SMUC, together with other private higher education institutions, has been instrumental in establishing the Association for Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs).   Since its establishment, the Association has worked very closely with HERQA and the Ministry of Education. SMUC has also established partnerships with some local public universities. SMUC has strong links with Debre Birhan Teacher Training College, Robe Teacher Training College, and Jimma University. Following the establishment of the links, SMUC donated books to the colleges and gave workshop to Woliso Technical College teachers on pedagogical skills.  The Assela Teacher Training College Library staff were trained here at SMUC in an attempt to build their capacity.

As part of the link between SMUC and HERQA, our senior faculty was actively engaged in the quality audit which HERQA conducted in two of the public institutions. SMUC also works closely with partner schools in the Lideta Sub-city.
