Academic Commission

The Academic Commission is the primary deliberative body that exercises institution-wide academic management of the regular program.

Composition
The Academic Commission of the regular program of SMUC consists of the following members:

Powers and Duties

The Academic Commission has the following powers and duties:

  • To deliberate and decide on the short, medium and long-term plans of the University College;
  • To prepare the programs of studies and timetable for the various courses offered in the Degree, Diploma and Certificate programs of the University College;
  • To determine procedures for the selection of students who are admitted by the University College in accordance with the general guidelines of the Ministry of Education;
  • To devise ways for improving the learning-teaching methods used in the University College;
  • To lay down the modalities of examinations and to approve grades and promotions of students in accordance with the general guidelines of the University College;
  • To decide on the grant of degrees, diplomas or certificates to successful students of the University College;
  • To devise ways for strengthening the relations of the University College with other relevant institutions;
  • To deliberate and submit recommendations on other academic affairs relating to the University College;
  • To determine its own rules of procedures;
  • To approve the University College’s academic calendar;
  • To supervise the implementation of regulations of  the University College;
  • To promote training, research and consultation  programs of the University College;
  • To study and approve students' graduation upon completion of programs;
  • To confer academic ranks up to Associate Professor and to recommend the rank of full Professor to the Ministry of Education for approval.
