The Office of External Relations (OER) serves as a bridge between the University College and the community, offices and organizations (national and international) to strengthen relationships and understanding in the promotion of teaching, research and community services of SMUC.

It handles a comprehensive, coordinated program of public relations, publications, dissemination of news, video production, and still photographs that reflect the activities of the University College.

The Office, as a result, deals with a wide array of duties and responsibilities, including: liaising with the media, serving as a clearing house for queries from public and private organizations, etc., responding to information requests of the University College, organizing special events, attending meetings, working with faculties, departments, offices, centers and units of SMUC to initiate and strengthen links with their counterparts.
